Weekend Minder – February 3, 2017

Dear Church Family and Friends of TBC,

Good afternoon.

Before we even get to Sunday, there are two fantastic fellowship opportunities both tonight and tomorrow. Tonight our youth will have a fried chicken and game night beginning at 6 at the Eachus’ home. If tonight is anything like the past, there will not only be great food, fellowship, but many laughs. Tomorrow our ladies are having a lunch outing at the Bridgeton Amish Market at noon. All ladies are welcome to join in; it should be a great time. In light of this outing tomorrow, the ladies have decided to skip February’s book study, which was scheduled for Tuesday, and resume the study in March. Be aware of that change.

As we look ahead to Sunday, I want to bring another “state of ….. address.” I preached two weeks ago on the state of the church, this Sunday I will speak on “The State of Your Soul,” and then one more message on “The State of Your Marriage.” We will also observe the Lord’s Table together in the morning. For our evening service, I will bring a message on Daniel 9:20-23 called “Touched by an Angel.”

I realize many people are excited about this Sunday for other reasons, namely Super Bowl LI, but let me encourage you to consider that worship services can also be “super” because we are worshipping our great God. We get to read and be taught from the greatest book ever written, lift our voices in song to our creator and redeemer, and fellowship with friends and guests in a warm, safe facility. Will you join us on Sunday? I hope to see you and your family.

Other notes:
– There will be choir practice on Sunday at 5 PM.

– The Sweetheart’s Getaway at Tri-State Bible Camp is coming up quickly… Feb. 10-11th. There is still time to register; you can learn more at www.tristatebiblecamp.org.

May God richly bless you and use you!

Your friend and pastor,
Dave Field
