Annual Conference – The annual conference of our fellowship of Churches (FFBC) is this week. Pastor, his family, along with John and Marilyn, will be attending. John is serving as our delegate again this year. The days will include business sessions, timely workshops, some “free” time, and evening services. There are two keynote speakers for the night services: Dr. Terry Smith (Hardingville Bible Church) & Dr. Al Cremard (Independent Bible Church of Duryea, Pa). This annual conference is always a highlight as many pastors and friends gather for a few days. Pastor and family leave this afternoon and return Thursday afternoon.
Next Sunday night we will have Bob & Karen Depue with us. The Depues have been church planting in Argentina for a number of years. Their sending agency is Biblical Ministries Worldwide, and their sending church is Limerick Chapel in Limerick, PA. We will have the joy of hearing of their ministry, and Bob will share a message from God’s Word.
Baptism – make plans to join us for a baptism service on Sunday, August 20th at 6 PM. It will be at the Wickersham home. After the service, we will have ice cream sundaes for all!
Gospel literature… sometimes as God gives us opportunity to talk with an unsaved person, we are looking to leave him or her with something to read and think on. Stop by the literature racks in the foyer area for a variety of gospel tracts and pamphlets. Not all the literature is evangelistic per se; there are many other helpful resources there for you as well. As you think about those you come into contact with, perhaps you could leave information with them and look to follow up. Without being pushy, you might be surprised by the doors the Lord opens in conversation.
