Dear Church Family and Friends,
Good morning all! If you have sent me an email over the last week, I have not been able to receive emails due to an ongoing, yet unresolved, domain issue with the church’s website. If you need to get in touch with me please call the church or my cell. Again, I apologize; we are working to get things resolved; we are frustrated right now with the hosting company. Obviously, I am able to send emails just not receive them.
Tomorrow morning from 7:30-Noon we will have a table in front of the Alloway Post Office to give out Christmas gift bags and free coffee/hot chocolate. We will also be giving out “free small coffee” cards for Bud’s Market as a way to support the community. Thanks to all who donated candy and helped package the bags!
As we look ahead to Sunday, we will continue our series in 1 Peter with a message “Christ’s Victorious Suffering” from 3:18. This text will serve well to prepare us as a congregation to observe the Lord’s Table together. For our evening service, I will begin a 3 part series on Christmas from Hebrews 9.
It seems like it has been awhile since we have had most everybody in church (due to sickness, vacations, work obligations, family matters, etc). I am hoping that we can all be back together this Sunday in God’s house. Watch out for excuses to stay home; make it a priority to be in Church. But know this… it is also not enough to plan on coming to church, you (and me) should be in prayer for the working of God’s Spirit, should confess our sins, and come prepared to meet with God!
Other notes:
– Our Christmas dinner is Dec. 9th at 6 PM. Right now the dinner signup seems quite light, hopefully you are coming and can sign up on Sunday to let us know what you can bring. The church will provide ham, turkey, rolls, and drinks for all. You can invite others to attend!
– The Youth Group will meet Dec. 8th from 7-9 PM. The young people will be caroling in the community and enjoying a Christmas party back at the church. If you know someone in grades 6-12 who would be interested, please let them know.
See you Sunday, Lord willing!
Pastor Dave
