Good Friday afternoon,
I trust you had a nice, quiet, relaxing day for Thanksgiving yesterday. I got to spend some time with my parents and older brother’s family along with my 4 kids. Dawn had to work the holiday in the ER. She loved being in the ER so much that she took our 8 yr old to the ER after he finished her shift because of his lingering sickness. Andrew spiked a high fever in the evening and his cough got worse. He was diagnosed with pneumonia in his right lung. Thankfully they got home at a decent hour and he has started an antibiotic.
As we look ahead to Sunday together in God’s house, in the morning, I will resume our series in 1 Peter with a study of chapter 3:13-17 “A Right Response When Wronged.” Our choir will also minister in music. For the evening service, I will bring a message from Hebrews 11 on “Faithful in the Good and Bad.”
Let me encourage you to make every effort to be out on Sunday, starting with Sunday School at 9:45. Be in prayer for God to use His Word in your life and all those sit under its teaching and preaching.
1 – Choir members who are singing this Sunday – please meet for a brief rehearsal at 9:30.
2 – Our Alloway Post Office outreach is next Saturday, Dec. 2nd from 7:30-Noon. We need candy canes and Hershey kisses by Wednesday, Nov. 29th. If you can early on that day to help us package together the gifts, that would be a be help! Also, would you like to help pass out the gift bags on Dec. 2nd, please let me know. Even if it is just for a hour, that would be appreciated.
3 – Our Christmas Dinner is Dec. 9 at 6 PM. I hope you will plan on attending; feel free to invite others. The church will provide the meat, rolls, and drinks; we just need you to bring a side dish and dessert to share. Pastor Rich Archut, of Community Bible Church (Barrington, NJ), will bring a short message that night.
Have a great day and weekend! See you soon!
